ABOUT US AND WHAT WE DO

About Us
Adopt America is an alliance of highly skilled, experienced professionals who have joined together in an effort to provide top notch services to client families and to the birth parents we serve. Our team includes lawyers, therapists, educators, and licensed social workers. We’ve experienced unplanned pregnancies, we’ve adopted, we’ve worked in adoption for many years and we’re here to help build families of all sorts. We are all about ethics, compassion, integrity and we have a sincere desire to do good work.

Why Us
Every adoption situation is unique. Determining which state laws should be applied in a particular case requires careful judgment and expertise. It is extremely important to have a team who can help you negotiate through these complexities. Successful adoption outcomes require careful assessment and planning and that is what we will do for you. We partner with you and guide you through each and every step of your adoption. We can also provide individualized adoption service plans in which you engage our services for only certain aspects of your adoption. It all depends on your particular situation and needs.

Our Goal
We offer services tailored to your unique circumstances and desires. We believe that adoption is one of life’s most serious undertakings and it cannot be done in a “factory-like” setting. We take the time to evaluate with you how best we can work with you to complete your adoption. That may mean that we handle every aspect of your adoption or it may mean that we provide a more limited range of services, depending on your particular circumstances and your needs. Once you apply, our Director will consult with you personally and together you will evaluate the best approach for you and develop a Pre- Adoption Plan that outlines your goals and the services we will provide to help you achieve your goals.

What We Do
We take a varied approach to the birthmother search and match process depending on a number of factors to include issues such as race preference, gender preference, sexual orientation, marital status age, physical disabilities of parents, as well as other factors which may affect the ease of placement. Specifically:

  • We will guide you and consult with you on preparing effective birth mother introductory materials, we will network with placement attorneys, agencies, professionals throughout the United States and represent you and present your profile. We will consult with you in evaluating various search strategies and placement options through attorney, agencies and facilitators.

  • Upon identification of a particular birthmother, we will engage in discussion and evaluation of the particular social circumstances of the birthmother, her decision to place her child for adoption, her medical and social background and the status of the birth father. We will coordinate the initial birthmother meeting, guide you through your decision-making process, and offer continual support.

  • Once you are matched with a birthmother, we will consult with relevant attorneys, agencies, and other professionals and assess the legal aspects of the particular, legal assessment of state laws, choice of laws and the particular advantages and disadvantages of various courses of action. After completing this assessment, we will prepare a Case Service Plan that will lay out the role and responsibilities of various parties to the process, estimate legal, birth mother and other expenses, and provide a road map for your adoption journey.

  • If you have already identified a birthmother, we can provide individualized services to meet your needs.

  • If problems arise, our team will be there to guide you through the issues, evaluate legal aspects, offer counseling, and interface with the other parties to the adoption. This is an emotional journey and having an attorney and psychologist on your team will be invaluable.
